Marlborough Wallpaper

Marlborough is a modern interpretation of a classic rose damask, drawn from a traditional floral wallpaper fragment.

Shaped through the studio’s exploration of floral form and flowing structure, a hand-drawn rose motif sits within an arrangement of leaves and curves. The design balances ornament and openness, creating movement across the paper.

The design is translated from fabric into wallpaper, retaining the character of the original textile. Texture, subtle variation, and layered colour are carefully preserved, so the surface carries the same depth and nuance as cloth, gently blurring the distinction between cloth and wall.

Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then developed for print.

Colour is developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider Fermoie collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.

Printed using water-based inks, with each design created in the studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
