Marlborough is a modern interpretation of a classic rose damask, drawn from a traditional floral wallpaper fragment.
Shaped through the studio’s exploration of floral form and flowing structure, a hand-drawn rose motif sits within an arrangement of leaves and curves. The design balances ornament and openness, creating movement across the cloth.
A decorative linen fabric with a larger-scale floral character.
Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.
Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
