Tara draws on the form of Mount Taranaki in New Zealand, where a near-perfect conical peak rises from the surrounding landscape.
Observed and developed through the studio, the design translates this form into a structured, geometric pattern. Repeating shapes build in rhythmic rows, softened by hand-drawn variation that introduces movement and a sense of irregularity across the surface.
A design that balances clarity of form with a more human, expressive line.
Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.
Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
