Popple Lampshades

Popple explores the movement of water, where small ripples, shifting light and surface rhythm create a constantly changing pattern. Developed through the studio’s exploration of mosaics, mark-making and the effects of weather on water, gentle curves and layered colour build across the cloth. Subtle variation creates depth and fluidity, giving the design a sense of quiet, continuous motion. Printed on Fermoie light linen, the designs fluid, layered character lends itself naturally to lampshades, where the pattern repeats across the surface, with light diffusing softly through the cloth.


Each lampshade is designed and made in-house by hand in our Marlborough accessories workshop. Careful attention is given to proportion, placement and construction, ensuring the design sits clearly and evenly around the shape. Each design begins as a hand-drawn repeat, developed in the studio with colour created by eye to sit naturally within the wider collection. The result is a lampshade that is balanced and enduring.
