Popple explores the movement of water, where small ripples, shifting light, and surface rhythm create a constantly changing pattern.
Developed through the studio’s exploration of mosaics, mark-making, and the effects of weather on water, gentle curves and layered colour build across the cloth. Subtle variation creates depth and fluidity, giving the design a sense of quiet, continuous motion.
Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.
Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
