Plain Linen Lampshades

Plain Linen is a layered surface, where colour is built gradually across the cloth. Developed through the studio’s exploration of pigment and texture, tonal variation sits within the weave, revealing depth and movement. Subtle shifts in tone and mark interact with the linen ground, giving the surface a softly painterly quality. Printed on Fermoie light linen, its tonal character lends itself naturally to lampshades, where the surface repeats across the shade, with light diffusing softly through the cloth.

Each lampshade is designed and made in-house by hand in our Marlborough accessories workshop. Careful attention is given to proportion, placement and construction, ensuring the surface sits clearly and evenly around the shape. Each design begins as a hand-drawn repeat, developed in the studio with colour created by eye to sit naturally within the wider collection. The result is a lampshade that is balanced and enduring.
