Plain Linen is a layered surface, where colour is built gradually across the cloth.
Developed through the studio’s exploration of pigment and texture, tonal variation sits within the weave, revealing depth and movement. Subtle shifts in tone and mark interact with the linen ground, giving the surface a softly painterly quality.
A printed linen fabric that grounds and connects interiors.
Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.
Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
