Wicker Fabric

Wicker is inspired by the structure of traditional wickerwork, where interlaced forms create patterns of light, shadow, and negative space.

Formed through the studio’s exploration of weave and construction, intersecting lines build a layered surface that echoes the rhythm of warp and weft. Subtle colour variation sits within the structure, adding depth and texture to the design.

Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.

Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
