Ticking draws on the fine, structural stripes of traditional ticking fabrics, reworked into a more expressive, hand-drawn design.
Developed through the studio’s exploration of line, variation, and weave, stripes of differing thickness move across the surface. The interaction between these painterly lines and the twill structure creates a subtle stitched-like quality, adding texture and depth.
A patterned fabric with a rhythmic, softly structured character.
Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.
Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
