Ruffle Wallpaper

Ruffle draws on the gathered forms of ribbon, translated through the studio into a layered geometric design.

Shaped through the studio’s exploration of form, repetition, and movement, bold shapes are arranged into a flowing surface. Subtle shifts reveal an underlying check structure, creating depth and variation across the cloth. The design moves between geometry and softness, giving it a sense of rhythm and play.

A decorative wallpaper with a dynamic, layered character.

The design is translated from fabric into wallpaper, retaining the character of the original textile. Texture, subtle variation, and layered colour are carefully preserved, so the surface carries the same depth and nuance as cloth, gently blurring the distinction between cloth and wall.

Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then developed for print. Colour is developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider Fermoie collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.

Printed using water-based inks, with each design created in the studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
