Poulton Stripe is a painterly interpretation of the classic stripe, informed by the character of traditional block printing.
Explored through drawing in the studio, subtly irregular lines move across the surface, shaped by the interaction between hand-drawn mark and cloth. Variations in thickness and spacing create a rhythm that feels both structured and relaxed.
A stripe fabric with a soft, hand-crafted character.
Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.
Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
