Mendip draws on the contours of the landscape, where shifting ground and rising forms create a varied terrain.
Developed through the studio’s observation of these changing forms, the design translates them into a small-scale geometric repeat. Structured shapes are softened by hand-drawn variation, creating rhythm and movement across the cloth.
A cotton fabric with a clear, graphic structure and a considered sense of movement.
Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.
Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
