Maple Fabric

Maple draws on the woodlands surrounding the studio, where leaves shift and shimmer in changing light.

Explored through drawing in the studio, the design captures the movement of foliage through a repeating leaf motif. Subtle variation in line and spacing creates a gentle rhythm, giving the surface a sense of natural movement.

Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.

Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
