Hackford

Hackford draws on the character of early English silk and wool damasks. Created as a single colour woollen crewelwork on linen.

Large in scale, grand yet relaxed. Hand-drawn and flowing, the design combines broad forms with softer detailing, creating a surface that feels both structured and relaxed.

A pattern with a quiet sense of scale and presence, where simplicity of colour allows the form to sit clearly across the cloth.

Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.

Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
