Eythorne is a pineapple motif from the Hackford collection, where the pineapple - long regarded as noble and sought after, is reinterpreted as a small-scale repeating pattern. Drawn with a light touch and a free-spirited hand, stylised forms move within a structured repeat, with subtle variation in line softens the pattern, introducing movement and depth across the cloth.
A decorative wallpaper with an expressive, contemporary damask character. The design is translated from fabric into wallpaper, retaining the character of the original textile. Texture, subtle variation, and layered colour are carefully preserved, so the surface carries the same depth and nuance as cloth, gently blurring the distinction between cloth and wall.
Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then developed for print.
Colour is developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider Fermoie collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.
Printed using water-based inks, with each design created in the studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
