Cove draws on depictions of water in early artworks, where movement is expressed through repeated, stylised forms.
Developed through the studio’s exploration of geometric pattern and hand-drawn mark-making, wave-like shapes move across the surface, capturing the energy of a choppy sea. The repetition of form creates rhythm, while variation introduces a sense of motion.
A patterned linen fabric with a bold, graphic character and dynamic movement.
Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.
Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
