Circus

Circus is an illustrated pattern built from simple, hand-drawn shapes arranged in a rhythmic repeat.

Formed through the studio’s exploration of narrative pattern and playful scale, figures and motifs emerge gradually across the surface. Repetition draws the eye, revealing detail and movement over time.

A decorative fabric with a light, expressive character.

Each Fermoie design begins on paper, where the full repeat is drawn by hand, then translated to cloth. Colours are developed in the studio, where a colour story is created for each design. Palettes are built by eye, to sit naturally within the wider collection, to match, to contrast, and to work together with ease.

Our production process uses water-based pigments, blending traditional methods with modern technology adapted to the Fermoie aesthetic and quality standards, with each design created in our studio and brought to life in-house in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

The result is a fabric that is tactile, timeless and quietly infused with the artistry and character that define Fermoie.
