Private Holiday Home, Cork
Interior designer – Fentiman Design, Photographer – Kristy Noble
This bedroom forms part of a new extension to a mid-century holiday home on the coast of County Cork, Ireland. The brief was to design the extension to feel like it has always been part of the house, which is where the inspiration came from for the timber detailing and panelling.
The only other specific request for this room, was that the bed must face the large picture window opposite, which looks straight out onto the Atlantic Ocean. The bed was designed and made bespoke for the room, and the green and blue colour palette of Fermoie fabrics was chosen as a pleasing contrast to the warm wood tones, as well as referencing the ever-changing colourscape outside.
