Masterpiece 2022: Sims Hilditch x Philip Mould
Interior Designer – Sims Hilditch, Photographer – Brent Darby and Neil Speakman
The stand that Sims Hilditch designed for Philip Mould at Masterpiece earlier this year was inspired by 500 years of British art, focused in particular on feminine glamour in portraiture. We created a space that resembled an inviting drawing room to help those visiting the stand visualise the artwork in situ – as it would be seen within a home. We chose a deep, opulent aubergine colour for the walls and paired this with contasting fabrics by Fermoie in olive greens and natural linens to soften the overall effect. The Fermoie fabric chosen to upholster the sofa and the seat cushions of the armchairs (all from The Emma Collection in partnership with George Smith) was playful in design and brought a wonderful texture and character to the space. The long linen curtains patterned with a thin stripe created a feeling of grandeur, befitting the artwork on display.
The stand championed British artwork. As a supplier of fine fabrics manufactured in England, Fermoie was the perfect choice for this project.
